What’s your turn-around time for an engineering package?
We pride ourselves on a fast turn-around. For most projects, we can have your engineering package ready to go in 7 – 10 business days.
What’s included in your engineering package?
You will receive a structural report which includes vertical and lateral calculations with wind, snow and earthquake loading specific to your site. Specifications for the footings, posts, connections and framing members. Engineering for the trusses is provided by the truss manufacturer.
How much do you charge?
A typical fee is 95 cents per square foot for unheated buildings; $1.35 per square foot for finished, heated spaces and 2nd floor framing, with a minimum charge of $450, with discounts for larger buildings. Our fees are very competitive, and are based upon the size and complexity of the building. We’ll give you a firm quote up front and there are no hidden costs and you don’t have to pay any sales tax. Because of our no-nonsense approach, we often save you more money in construction costs than you spend on engineering.
What do I need to provide?
You provide us with a copy of the building plans in AutoCAD or PDF format via email, and any special instructions about the project. If you provide AutoCAD drawings, we will edit them to reflect the engineering as needed. If you give us PDF drawings, you will need to modify the drawings to reflect the engineering. Permits are your responsibility.
